What's up, nerds?! We are Kimi + Pua. We tried the whole 9-5 thing, and it just wasn't for us. Then we started our own business and tried the “hustle til you die” thing. That left us tired, grouchy, and broke. We knew there had to be another way. We ditched the traditional entrepreneurial models and built a badass online business from a foundation of efficiency and productivity in the pursuit of our Best Life Ever. Sometimes it can be SO FRUSTRATING when we’ve been working on things, but they haven’t paid off yet. There’s a reason they say, “patience is a virtue”. The need for MORE PATIENCE is one of the most challenging and annoying things to grapple with.

Being in the world of personal and professional development, we see a lot of people tackling their challenges from the flawed premise that there is something WRONG with them. How often do we say that to ourselves? There’s something wrong with me. I need something. I need to be fixed.

We seek out solutions in the form of products, services, creams, potions, medications, programs, cures...we fall prey to media/companies/industries that financially benefit from convincing us that we are fundamentally broken or NOT OK.

In today's episode, we want to pull you in for BIG HUG and encourage you to do whatever it takes to LOVE and ACCEPT yourself RIGHT MEOW. Not when you lose the weight, not when you make the money, not when you get the guy/girl, but RIGHT F@#%ing NOW. You are not broken. There’s nothing wrong with you. Love yourself first, then hack your beautiful challenges and sticky points from that place. Shine baby shine!

Spoiler alert: You are not going to get everything that you think you want and that’s A GOOD THING! Whether it’s a job, a relationship, a home, a competition...when you don’t get your desired outcome, it sucks, but disappointment is a necessary and beautiful part of your Best Life Ever. In today’s episode, we share 5 steps that will help you to embrace disappointment, learn from NOT getting what you want, and most importantly KEEP YOUR FAITH.

 

  1. Allow yourself the time and space to FEEL your disappointment. Let it out and talk it out. Feel the feelings.
  2. Talk it out with someone who understands and/or has been through the same type of disappointment or a similar experience or someone just understanding and awesome
  3. Focus on the big picture - you may not be able to see how this serves you yet, but trust that it will & find comfort in that. Find the benefits!!!!!!
  4. Let go of any comparisons, expectations or judgement - before and after (preventative and curative)
  5. Hop off the victimhood train - recognizing that NOT getting what you want may be even better for your spirit than getting what you want will help you get out of that victim mindset of “why did this happen to me”

Don’t let disappointment steal your faith, define who you are, or stop you from desiring more. Don’t let it disenchant you. The only way we truly lose is if we let fear of disappointment stop us from dreaming, trying, striving towards our Best Life Ever!

We are dedicating September (Kimi’s birthday month!) to bringing more EASE to your life. We have declared September as Hook Up Your Future Self Month! This is a 3-part series is dedicated to helping you create more awareness, ease, and peace of mind in your life.

At Best Life Ever, we talk a lot about “hooking up your future selves”. We encourage our clients to look for ways to make life easier for the tired, overwhelmed, or burned out future versions of themselves, but also as a way to increase efficiency and productivity and supercharge your life.

In today’s episode, we talk about HUYFS basics. Managing dinner-time hangriness by throwing a meal in a crock pot that morning, filling up your gas tank on the weekend instead of running on empty during the busier work week, basically anything you can do to prep and plan ahead for that weary, fated future you.

The questions your future self wants you to ask:

  • How can I make my life easier?
  • What repeating challenges do I see?
  • What is on the horizon? What is coming up that I can take care of farther in advance than usual?
  • Self care! Wheee! You’re next ;)
  • What tasks can I batch and what can I do or purchase in bulk?
